Those Tricky Musicians...

Have you ever heard a song that made you feel happy but the lyrics convey the opposite emotion? Or maybe the song made you feel peaceful. However, the song is really about war. This is one of the many special traits of music.  Any emotion can be conveyed in music. That's probably why we listen to music no matter what emotion we may feel. The fact that a song can make you feel two emotions at once makes music even more amazing. Music is the trigger to the mind and the soul. Listen to these two songs and see how they influence your mood. Read the lyrics and see if your thoughts about these songs change. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq7gDYDyxOs. It may surprise you but this peaceful, relaxing Pink Floyd tune is about war. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWm7xZ9h3fc. This happy upbeat sounding song by Stone Temple Pilots is about relationship problems. Hope you enjoy both these songs! If you know another song like these two please comment!

  1. Listen to "Us and Them" again, but instead of thinking about war, think about class struggle (rich vs. poor). I think it fits the context of the song better than war.

  2. I can kinda hear both sides of it. The class struggle and the war thing. I've been trying to find somewhere where they say what the song's about. It seems like it's mainly listener interpretation.

  3. Class struggles do cause wars though. Then again "Who knows which is which and who is who?"
