6/11/13

What's so special about today?

What makes June 11th so good? I'll  tell you. 1949 Frank Beard is born and grows up to be the only member of ZZ Top without a beard. 1968 The Rolling Stones start recording Sympathy for the Devil when the studio catches fire mysteriously. 1969 David Bowie releases Space Oddity and makes people wonder how Major Tom got to space in a tin can. 1976 Wild Cherry releases Play That Funky Music which starts the debate on whether he saying "right boy" or "white boy." In the same year the Carpenters release A Kind of Hush at the exact moment that everyone in the world was taking a nap. But what was #1 on the charts back in 1966? This song of course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1zBG2TEjn4
Until next time, roll the Mellow Dice and hope for Midnight.
